A Lesson in Humility

Last weekend a neighbor shared some observations with me about my mom, with regard to two plays we had attended. At the first one, my mom had turned in the wrong direction to use the bathroom and almost got lost returning to our seats. At the second one, I had gone ahead down the stairs and did not notice she was having trouble navigating the way to our seats. This time my neighbor took my mom to the closer bathroom. I am glad she shared these things with me as I need to be more observant of what my mom needs when she is out and about.

She still is very independent but more frail than in the past and has less stamina. I have encouraged her to take Tylenol PM, which has helped her sleep. I want to more regularly ask her what she wants done. We make a good team shopping, preparing and cooking our midday meal. She is the reason I retired and moved to live across from her, so that I can take care of her for the rest of her life.
