How to Overcome the Obstacle of Distraction?

Obstacle # 1: The Obstacle of Distraction— I read my Bible, but I get distracted and sometimes even lose interest in what I read.
Tip #1: Create an environment of solitude.
Perhaps you will need to go outside or use headphones to play instrumental music. Maybe you need to designate a special signal for your family that this is your time to connect with God. Maybe it is a closet, garage, shed or bathroom. You need to create the environment where you can hear God’s Word and listen to his leading.
Tip #2: Choose one or two verses from that days Bible reading on which you will meditate.
When I need to work on keeping interest and focus, I settle on one or two verses…Take a 3 x 5 card and write the verse on the card. Write it neatly and deliberately and add the punctuation marks. Meditate as you write the words.
