A Memory’s Influence
“…The apostle John, who was Jesus’ beloved disciple, had happy memories that influenced his outlook. He spent three years in a close friendship with Jesus. John was chosen, along with Peter and his brother, James, to be a part of the inner circle of Jesus. This privilege allowed him to be witness to some of Jesus’ most outstanding miracles and events, such as the prayer of Christ at Gesthsemane (Matthew 26:36-48). John’s writings revealed an outlook that had been touched by his memories of Christ. With great faith and hope he was able to convey the love of God because of his experience.
Remember your happiest moments and what made special. It may not have been about possessions or success. It could have been a friendship just like John’s. But whatever your memory is, allow it to influence your outlook. It will give you a positive attitude about your hopes, and you will be encouraged to achieve your dreams…” (Hope)
