Finding Courage

“True rest takes courage. It takes deep trust to release control and surrender to God’s plans. Because even when we’re exhausted, we still like to feel that we’re in control. To turn over our plans, work, and productivity to the Lord and to rest in Him—that requires a huge leap of faith. Yes, it takes courage to rest.

Do you want that courage? Are you simply so tired that you don’t even know where to turn? Rest assured, friend, that the Lord is trustworthy. Turn to Him. He holds the whole world in His hands, and yet He also knows every hair on your head. He is deeply and intrinsically involved in your life, and He wants to free you from exhaustion and give you a spirit of rest.

When you surrender yourself to the Lord, you can know that your loving Father will take care of you. Ask Him for the courage to surrender; ask Him for the courage to surrender; ask Him for the courage to rest…” (Rest)
