Gifts in the Wilderness
“How quick are you, during a time of trouble, to say,’What have I done to deserve this?’ Often our first response is to view our trials as punishment. It’s difficult to ‘rejoice always ‘ when we’re in the midst of a wilderness thinking, Why me? (Philippians 4:4)
To walk with joy through the wilderness, we must recognize the gifts that are awaiting us. Sometimes God wants to stir up the passion we once had for Him. Other times the wilderness is a place of protection (Exodus 13:17-18). Though the enemy would have you believe otherwise, the wilderness can be a place of provision (Psalm 78:19).
We can have joy in the midst of any circumstance if we train our hearts to look for the gifts. If you’re currently in a wilderness, look for the gifts of passion, protection, and wilderness.
Lord, open my eyes to the gifts in every circumstance so that I can walk with joy wherever You lead me.’ (Thankful)
