Three Components When You Meet With Jesus

I have recently been calling my time with God as a meeting with Jesus. I invite Jesus to join me and I begin by worshipping Him with a hymn. An excellent resource is the devotional called Amazing Grace. Not only does it provide the verses but it also gives you the musical score for the melody for some portion of the verse. That is usually enough for me to be able to remember the rest of the tune and sing. I love the accompanying devotion that gives some biographical information about the hymn composer and when and why was it created.
I am reading through the Bible using the One Year Bible Creative Expressions published by Tyndale and a devotional called The God of Your Story written by the founder of the Daily Audio Bible podcast Brian Hardin. The last few years of my teaching career, I would listen to that podcast, during which Brian would read the daily scriptures and provide a short commentary. This new book of his takes that verbal selection and publishes it as a written piece. There is more info on these books throughout my site, and you can reach out for more informaion.
I ask Jesus to give me one verse from the daily scriptures (Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs; which I then study more in detail and create a Bible Journaling entry. The One Year Bible Creative Expressions is specifically designed to do Bible Journaling it it. It provides a margin with lines for writing out the verse in beautiful script, even calligraphy. It has provided some black line images of a verse, that one can color in.
So after spending time with Jesus communicating with me, I then want to communicate with Him through prayer. This is something that is not as familiar to me, so I look for ways to help me focus and do this. Gina Piorer’s post provides 10 ways to help you do just that. Here are the first three.
