Joy in Community
“How often do you get together with fellow believers? Do you see them only during worship services or church activities? For some reason, it’s common to section off our “church life” from our interests or activities.
The church people in Acts weren’t perfect, but they certainly understood the joy of living in community with other believers. They obeyed the command to regularly worship together (Hebrews 10:25). Many of us also gather on a regular basis to worship, but these believers went even further; they gathered to enjoy meals in each other’s homes.
We can have the joy of living in community by following the early church’s example. No Pinterest boards or complicated recipes required; the first-century home gatherings were filled with only gladness and simplicity. Let’s make a habit to not only gather to worship, but also to break bread with fellow believers in our homes… “ (Joyful)
