Tears Today, Joy Tomorrow
“Tears have many important functions. They clean and lubricate the eyes, and a stream of tears will flow when the eyes become irritated. Tears are also formed from laughter, or even a yawn draws tears. Most of the time, though, tears mean sadness or joy. Therefore, tears express intense internal emotion.
One of these emotions is sorrow. Sorrow overflows with weeping or crying. Each salty tear that is shed commentates a loss or hurt. With each tear there may be a memory of a past pleasure that is now lost…
Tears can be reminders that something or someone brought you joy and delight. Tears can also show that you are stressed or sad. You express your loss in tears that words cannot do. It is good to have a shoulder to cry on, someone to comfort you and share your pain with, and help wipe away the tears. Although you may weep today, look forward to tomorrow when your hope and joy returns.” (Hope)
